Discover the art of yoga in conjunction with the learning mudras and bandhas in this workshop.
In order to deepen our connection to our yoga practice, the use of mudras, or
gestures are powerful tools for self-care and empowerment. Mudras can be
described as psychic, emotional, devotional and aesthetic gestures or
attitudes that create a subtle energy flow intended to link the individual
pranic force with universal or cosmic pranic force.
A mudra can involve the entire body or simply hand positions. Requiring a
very subtle awareness, mudras are a combination of subtle physical
movements that alter mood, attitude and perception, deepening awareness
and concentration. They allow us to go inwards and recharge our batteries.
Hasta are hand mudras, mana are head mudras, using the eyes, ears, nose,
tongue and lips, kaya are postural mudras utilising physical postures
combined with breathing and concentration techniques, Bandhas, lock
mudras are adhara, perineal mudras.
